HBO and Amazon have signed an agreement that will let Amazon Prime members watch classic TV shows like “The Sopranos”, “The Wire”, “Six Feet Under” and early seasons of “True Blood” and “Boardwalk Empire”. Starting May 21, Prime members (who pay $99 per year for streaming entertainment) will be able to watch the programs. The deal also includes older original movies and comedy specials. There was no mention of “Sex and the City”, “Entourage” of “Game of Thrones” in the agreement.
Scientists are watching an iceberg larger than the island of Guam as it slowly moves away from an Antarctic glacier. The iceberg (named B-31) is about 255-square miles and as much as 1,600 feet thick. They say this is normal and shouldn’t cause a threat to shipping lanes or sea level rise but due to the extreme size, they are keeping a watchful eye on the ice mass.
The Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled yesterday that two death row inmates are not entitles to know the source of the drugs that will be used to kill them. By ruling on the case, the court also listed a stay of execution that it granted earlier this week. Inmates Clayton Lockett and Charles Warner are scheduled to be put to death later this year.
Last but not least …. This sounds like something out of a movie but 147 people have died from an Ebola Virus outbreak in West Africa. Not to make light of a serious situation but I wonder if they have to find the monkey who started the disease like they have in multiple Hollywood films …. Pope John Paul II will be enshrined as a saint at St.Peter’s Basilica this Sunday. With all the bullshit surrounding the Roman Catholic Church they feel they have to name a new saint?
