Today is the LAST DAY OF WINTER! That might not mean a lot to us here in Florida but across the country it’s a day of celebration! This was one of the harshest winters in history with record low temperatures and snowfall amounts. You can go to any Dunkin Donut Store today and get a free 16-ounce iced coffee to celebrate the end of Old Man Winter’s reign on America … Drink up !

According to the National Brewers Association, craft beer sales in the USA are up 18 percent to 15.6-million barrels. These smaller brewed, craft beers now account for 7.8% of all beer sales in the country. That figure is up from 6.5% in 2012. Craft beers generated $14.3-billion in sales in 2013!

Here’s an interesting fact … scientists have found that Burmese pythons have an unique sense that enables them to find their way home. The python has a homing instinct unlike any other reptile and they have shocked scientists. In the Everglades, snakes were captured, implanted with tiny transmitters, moved away and released. They always found their way back to the place they were captured. It took one python nine months (it was moved 22 miles away) but it found its way back. The results has biologists and animal control people amazed. The results were published this week in a research journal.

It took three days for the Dona Ana County Sherriff’s Department to talk El Paso Electric to turn off the power to a 60-foot pole. Athena the cat somehow climbed up the pole and was stuck there for all three days! Her owners tried everything to get her down but nothing worked. Finally the electric company shut off the power and brought a bucket truck to the scene. It was then safe for a county animal control supervisor to bring Athena to safety!

Last but not least …… The NFL is suing rapper M.I.A. for $16.6-million for flipping off the camera during the 2012 Super Bowl halftime show. She deserves to be punished for being so damn stupid but sixteen million? …… About 1,500 minorities who took the New York City Fire Department entrance exams that were found to be biased will be eligible to receive back pay totaling $98-million …… Have a fantastic “Hump Day” everybody!
