Today is Steak and BJ Day !!! Yes, everybody the BJ means “blow job”! Some say it was invented by the Romans in 269AD, and institutionalized through Saint Valentine’s cousin, Claudius Fellatio. Others suggest that when World War II ended in 1945, president Harry S. Truman had the FBI covertly spread the word to act as a “welcome home” for the troops. All we really know, is that Steak and BJ Day is pretty damn awesome! I think I like this holiday better than my birthday or Christmas !!!!
This is a big sports weekend as college basketball teams battle to get into the annual NCAA Tournament. Conference tournaments are being held across the country including the SEC where the nation’s number one team The University of Florida is playing. The PGA Valspar Championship Tournament is being held in Palm Harbor, FL and this week’s NASCAR Food City 500 Race will happen at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Eight same-sex couples who were legally married outside the State of Florida are suing the Sunshine State because they want Florida to recognize their unions. The suit was filed in Tallahassee yesterday by the ACLU. Named as defendants are Governor Rick Scott, Attorney General Pam Bondi, Surgeon General John Armstrong and Department of Management Services Secretary Craig Nichols. The suit says that same-sex couples are recognized nationally after the DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) was repealed and they want Florida to do the same.
In Cincinnati, Ohio Robert Palmer and Tamica Jeffers overdosed on heroin while their two kids (ages 5 and 8) played in a McDonald’s indoor play area. These two fuck-ups took the drugs while in the fast food restaurant and are facing child endangerment and drug charges. I hope the judge “supersizes” their sentences!
Like the military doesn’t have enough on its mind, a five-member panel that convened at San Francisco State University said that the United States should join the dozen other nations that let transgender people serve in the armed forces. My question is just how many transgender people really want to serve in the military? With all the other things going on in the world, did we really need a 5-member panel discussing this idea?
The law in Colorado that lets adults legally possess and use marijuana may now let people who were found guilty of minor weed crimes challenge their convictions. I guess it makes sense, even though when those people were put in jail they were breaking the law at that time. In my opinion minor offenses should be wiped clear but major possession and distribution cases are a different story.
Last but not least …… Star Trek star Chris Pine was arrested for DUI in New Zealand after filming his new movie “Z for Zachariah” …… A study showed that Americans spent $55.7-billion on their pets in 2013 …… Two people were killed and 23 injured when they were struck by a car at the SXSW concert in Austin, TX.
