The casino’s pocketed a tidy $19.7-million, the most since 2005. Over 2/3 of the money bet was on prop bets … The Red Hot Chili Peppers are fakers! That’s right their guitars were not plugged in during their performance during half time. They pretended to play along with a pre-recorded sound track. Yes, I scream bullshit! Shame on the Peppers. Bruno Mars sang live during his time on stage. I expect a live performance during the Super Bowl … The FBI rescued 16 juveniles between the ages off 13-17 during a two week prostitution sting in the New York area. The kids were shipped in for Super Bowl week and it was reported that some trafficked women saw up to 50 guys a day. They were sold to wealthy clients as a “Party Pack” that included drugs, booze and the girls. Thank you FBI for arresting the assholes behind this serious crime … It’s been said that the Seattle defense figured out Peyton Manning’s hand signals and that’s why it looked like they knew what play was coming before it happened. Seahawk Richard Sherman said it was easy … The Broncos now own the record for the most Super Bowl losses with five!
It was great weather last weekend in The Big Apple for the Big Game but New Yorkers are paying the price this week. Another severe storm has rolled into the east and shut down schools, roadways, businesses and airports. Many people had a difficult time leaving New York after the Super Bowl. The forecast is for 8 inches of snow to fall today and tonight.
Auto sales slid three percent in January as ice, snow and bad weather kept many buyers inside. People still managed to buy just over 1-million vehicles down about 32,000 from a year ago. It was the first drop since August 2010. General Motors, Toyota and Ford were the top three selling companies in the USA. There were big gains in the west (were the weather was mild) and huge drops in the east. Even with the bad weather, Subaru had a 19 percent gain, Chrysler posted a 8 percent gain, Honda posted a 2 percent gain and Hyundai had a 1 percent gain.
Last but not least … KEE Action Sports is the biggest maker of paint balls in the world but they closed their plant in Clearwater, Florida on Monday. The bulk of the manufacturing will go to Taiwan and Asia as the company said they just can’t compete with the cheaper prices … For the first time a “mutt category” will be added to the prestigious Westminister Dog Show this year. No more only a “pure bred” contest will now add to the 190 breeds … Happy Birthday wishes go out to rock star Alice Cooper who turns 64 today!
