The Grammy’s were held last night and in this man’s opinion … was a mish-mash of good and bad! I’m sorry Daft Punk’s album “Random Access Memories” featuring the song “Get Lucky” is ok but not good enough to win Album of the Year, Record of the Year and Best Group Performance … I think Lorde looks like “Wednesday” from the Addams and her song “Royals” winning Song of the Year is ridiculous … Pharrell’s hat was just fucked up looking … I thought Beyoncé and Jay Z’s opening number was terrible (however she looked great sitting in the front row during the show) and I just didn’t get Chinese Pianist Lang Lang playing with Metallica. The piano just didn’t fit. Now for the good … I thought Taylor Swift was great (as usual), Robin Thicke playing with Chicago was cool, P!nk was fantastic … Keith Urban can flat out play a guitar … I really like Imagine Dragons but Kendrick Lamar’s rapping overtook the song … There not my favorites but Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were impressive … lastly I loved Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney!
Get ready everybody … it’s Super Bowl week! The media will huddle in New York City talking to everybody from starting quarterback Peyton Manning to running back Marshawn Lynch to wide receiver Wes Walker to the ball boy and bathroom attendant! You’ll learn what high school Champ Bailey attended, what Julius Thomas eats before practice and who Richard Sherman tweets after a game. Stupid questions, good questions, crazy comments and everything in between … It’s Super Bowl XLVII this Sunday at 6:20pm on Fox.
If you live in the Midwest get ready for some damn cold temperatures! Wind chills are expected to dip to minus 43 in Minneapolis, minus 23 in Chicago and minus 14 in Kansas City. The “Polar Vortex” (winds that circulate around the North Pole) have caused severe cold weather for the past month with more to come. Bundle up everybody !
A few days ago we told you about a pregnant woman in Texas who was declared brain dead but kept alive to save her baby. After a hearing, a judge said the family had the right to take her off life support. The hospital was fighting to keep her functioning in order to save the baby against the families wishes. The 23-week fetus will not be born.
Last but not least … Look for numerous stars to appear in Super Bowl commercials this Sunday. Stephen Colbert will talk up Pistachios, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in an Anheuser-Busch ad, Laurence Fishburne will be in a Kia commercial and Bono and U2 will be in a Bank of America spot … Did you know that Hooter’s co-founder Ed Droste has never cooked a chicken wing? … Have a great Monday !!
